Bologna by podoboq
Bologna, the capital of Emilia Romagna, is known mainly for the medieval palaces spread around two main squares. In the region of Emilia Romagna, however, we can find other important monuments. Those includes for example a water castle Castello Estense, the dominant feature of the city of Ferrara, or the Basilica of San Vitale in Ravenna, or fortress Castello di Montebello located just few kilometers from Rimini. You should also visit Rimini, Parma, Modena, Pomposa Abbey and San Leo. Thirty kilometres west of Rimini is situated oldest European Republic of San Marino spread on the slopes of Monte Titano. This independent state has its own mint, postage stamps, representative football team and even army of thousand soldiers.
