Narni – medieval hilly town that you may never heard about
Narni is a charming ancient town, which like the most of Umbrian towns, holds many historical monuments in its belly.
It is situated on a rocky promontory at the mouth of the river Nero, in the province of Terni, just 10 kilometers from Marmore Falls (Cascate delle Marmore) and 80 kilometers from Rome. Locals still do their best to keep the city’s medieval character.

The cobbled narrow streets and lots of stone houses… That’s what you can admire in Narni. Town can be seen from a far distance but for the first sight it appears as a place which is best to avoid.
Especially if you come from the direction of the nearby Terni that was affected by the earthquake. However it still worth to pay a visit to this medieval city, decaying on a hilltop and fortified by the originally impregnable walls.
