Camogli – a picturesque fishing village on Riviera di Levante
Camogli is a picturesque fishing village located in the beautiful coastal strip called “Riviera Levante”. It is lined with mostly pebble beaches and washed by the clear blue waters of Ligurian Sea.
The fishing port of Camogli is an interesting place on the edge of the peninsula of Portofino, with a good climate, located about 23 km from Genoa.

In Camogli you will find many restaurants where you can taste the authentic Italian specialties. Steep streets will lead you to the southern tip, where is a magnificent medieval castle Castello della Dragonara.
Here you can visit Acquario Tirrenica – a big aquarium with marine life. To this day, Camogli managed to maintain its charm thanks to the town architecture and attracts tourists for its quaint and pleasant atmosphere.

You can take a ferry from Camogli to the nearby resorts such as the Portofino, Genoa or Recca.
Just to mention some of the most important people who visited Camogli…it was, for example, the writer Charles Dickens in 1884. At that time, Camogli was a rough port city which character has gradually changed over the years.

Port of Camogli is for its panoramic location a favorite subject of postcards and pictures of local painters. Holidays here are suitable for those who love nature and, at the same time, want to be in a beautiful medieval environment away from the busy resorts.
Attractive tip for a trip is the nearby “blue trail” (Sentiero Azzurro), which leads through five hilly coastal cities in the Cinque Terre and you will never lose charming view of the sea.

The traditional tourist destination is also Rapallo, but unfortunately there are not too many beaches to enjoy sun and sea. In this part of the Riviera beaches are a little more exotic, because here you can find many reefs inhabited by various coral species.
The Blue Flag have such resorts as Chiavari, Lavagna, Moneglia and Lerici.
